shop feature: adaptive seeds

We're excited to be offering a selection of seeds this season from Adaptive Seeds out of Sweet Home, OR this year. Founded by Sarah Kleeger and Andrew Still in 2009, Adaptive Seeds is geared toward eco-conscious home gardeners, farmers, and seed saving enthusiasts. It is important to note that that they are a certified organic and that none of their seeds are proprietary hybrids, patented, PVP, or GMO, but rather they are open pollinated with an abundant gene pool. All seeds are grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers, and grown personally by Adaptive, or by regional friend, and is noted on variety descriptions. Adaptive Seeds is a partner seed company, and participating breeder with the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). Overall a company doing great things that we are proud to support.

A selection of our favorite flowers, herbs, and vegetables are available at the shop ready to be sown into your gardens! On a personal note, Emily's winter CSA grows their vegetables with Adaptive Seeds, and her favorites are the Black Futsu squash, Candystick Delicata, and Salade de Russie Lettuce.
